Due to winter road conditions and continuing snow, there is no school on Friday March 7th.

Congratulations to our speech team for placing 2nd at the Lou-Platte Conference speech meet!

The LouPlatte Speech Meet scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday, March 5th at Centura High School has been moved back one hour with a new start time of 10:00am.

After consulting with the National Weather Service in both Hastings and North Platte, the strong winds and potential snowfall in our area is moving in earlier today than forecasted. This weather event will create hazardous travel conditions, especially for high profile vehicles such as school buses. Therefore out of an abundance of caution, the Ord Public Schools will dismiss at 1:00 today with buses running accordingly. If you need assistance with your student's dismissal plans, please contact the school.

Chants fall to Holdrege in sub district basketball to end season 89-56.

Chants advance in district boys basketball with a 48-45 victory over Broken Bow.

Congratulations to Colt Meyer on his 4th place finish at state wrestling!

GBB ends their season tonight against Crofton. Great season ladies!

Ord remains in a Cold Weather Advisory. While it is nice to be #1, Ord is topping the National Weather Service charts with a forecasted temperature of -5 and a windchill of -28 overnight, with temperatures scheduled to warm up between 9:00-10:00am. Due to this, Friday February 21st will be a 10:00 Late Start and run emergency paved road bus routes.

On February 21st, there will only be 3 quarters of the JV game versus Ravenna. Therefore, the varsity game will begin right after the JV game concludes around 6:00. Games will be played in the new gym.

GBB advances tomorrow to play Crofton!

Payton Whited 3rd at 140 and Sierra Kluthe 6th at 155 bring home medals from the Class B girls State Wrestling Championships this week. Congratulations girls.

The JH boys basketball game against St. Paul has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 20th at 6:15 PM in St. Paul.

We want to communicate with our families the plans for Wednesday and Thursday February 19th and 20th in regards to school hours. With the extreme cold temperatures and wind chills in the forecast, there will be a 10:00 Late Start both days. Although the temperature at these times will only be slightly warmer than regular school times, travel during daylight hours offers an extra safety precaution. Buses will run the paved roads only emergency route plan. We are asking bussed families that are not riding to contact the Bus Barn at 728-3031 so we can plan accordingly.

Due to additional snow in the forecast, dangerously cold temperatures, extreme windchills, and overnight wind gusts impacting area roads, there will be No School on Tuesday, February 18th. Please stay inside if you are able and dress in warm layers if you have to go outside. The decision to cancel school is not an easy decision but the safety of our students and staff is at the forefront of our decisions. Please stay safe Chants!

Due to the weather, there is a change in Girls subdistrict basketball. Ord will now play West Holt on Wednesday, February 19 in Atkinson at 5:00 pm. If they win, they will play in Crofton on Thursday the 20th at 6:00 pm.

The LPC Speech meet scheduled for Wednesday, February 19 has been postponed. The new date will be Wednesday, March 5 at 9:00 am in Loup City.
