Gibbon - The Ord Chanticleers traveled to Gibbon to take on the Buffaloes on a beautiful Friday evening. The Chants got off to a fast start holding the Buffales to a three and out on the first drive. The Chants showed their physical dominance by pounding the ball right down the field and scoring on a 4 yd touchdown run by Trent McCain. Trent would scored the next two touchdown runs in the quarter from 7 yd and 3 yds out. At the end of the quarter it was the good guys with a 21-0 lead. At the beginning of the second quarter Talan Bruha intercepted a Buffalo pass and took it 19 yds for the score. At the end of the quarter, Blake Hinrichs scored on a 19 yd run to make it 33-0 goin into the half. The Chants continued the onslaught in the third quarter scoring twice on runs from Trent McCain from 6 and 10 yds. Gibbon got on the board at in the fourth quarter and the final ended up 46-7. Coach Wells commented after the game, “We came out tonight and played the way we were supposed to. We are starting to get rolling and are hoping to continue this in the ensuing weeks ahead. A lot of young guys got some experience in the game also which was great and they played well also.” The Chanticleers will be at home to take on the Amherst Bronocs this week.
