The Chanticleer golf team came home with another plaque at Centura. The Chants finished runner-up to York shooting 351 to get edged by 6 strokes. St. Paul shot 362 and Centura 367 to round out the top four.
Cade Geiser shot the best round of his career with an 83 to finish 3rd individually. Tad Kovarik placed 6th with an 84 and Rowe Lilienthal shot 87 for 11th medal. Grady Sheets carded a 96 and Trey Warner a 99.
Coach Mike Bechtold said the Chants have made gains recently as the weather has perked up for them.
“We got a few days of good weather and the kids have responded with some hard work and extra time on the course to get better.” Coach Bechtold said, “I am especially pleased with Cade’s round. He would have won the meet had he not hit his driver too far on the last hole to go OB.”
