Gibbon- The 7-1 Chanticleers went on the road to play their last regular-season game versus Gibbon last Friday night on a beautiful fall evening. The Chanticleers got off to a fast start again in the game scoring 34 points in the first quarter and 55 points in the first half. First-quarter scoring was started by John DeRiso on a 34 Yd run, Gage Racek on a 15 Yd run, John DeRiso on a 34 Yd touchdown reception from Dylan Hurlburt, a 34 Yd touchdown reception by Talan Bruha from Dylan Hurlburt, and a 7 Yd run from Gage Racek. Second-quarter scoring was Gage Racek on a 10 Yd run, Dylan Hurlburt on a 31 Yd run, and Aidan Ryschon on a 24 Yd run. The Chanticleer defense held Gibbon to 16 Yds in the first half and gave up 1 first down. The second offensive team started the second half and moved the ball offensively but were unable to score. The defense also held Gibbon out of the endzone. Coach Wells said, “Our guys came out and did what they had to do. We played well and learned from the game about some little things we need to fix heading into the playoffs. We had a great regular season, and we can’t wait to get rolling in the playoffs.” The Chanticleers will host Centennial on Friday at 7:00 in the first round of the playoffs.
