Monday night in Holdridge, the Ord boys’ basketball team, the four seed, defeated Broken Bow, the five seed 48-45 in the first round of the class C1-8 subdistrict playoffs.  The boys will advance to a 6:00 Tuesday night match-up with the one seed and host team Holdridge, who is 19-3 on the season.  The only Holdridge losses this season came to 21-1 Ogallala, 19-3 Lincoln Lutheran, and 21-3 Cozad.  Kearney Catholic and Adams Central are also a part of this tough subdistrict bracket.  

In this game, the Chants gathered 27 defensive rebounds and put in 26 points in the paint.  They also shot 100% from the field in the first quarter but still trailed 18-16 at the end of the first.  The first was the only quarter that the Chanticleers trailed in.

Garret Severance led all scorers in the game with 17 points, while hitting three three pointers, and   Jordan Williams added 13 points on the night.
