The Chanticleer boys traveled to North Bend for the North Bend Holiday Tournament and kicked off the tournament with host North Bend. The Chants started off strong and took an 11-7 lead but weren't able to hold before the Tigers went on a 11-0 Run to end the 1st and start the 2nd quarters. The Tigres would extend the lead to fifteen before the Chants rallied back and cut the lead to 8 before the break. “To end the half we executed better and finished some plays that got us back in the game. Coach Gates said. To start 3rd the teams would battle back and forth but the Chants would never get closer than eight again and fall to the Tigers 70-52. “Give them credit they shot 50% from 3 and forced us into too many turnovers and that was the difference in the game.” The Chants were led by Elijah Pollard with 18 points. Colton Thompson added a double-double with twelve points and ten rebounds. 

On Saturday afternoon the Chants played Guardian Angels Central Catholic. The game started well for the Chants but the  Bluejyas would hit a late three in the first quarter to take a 8-7 lead. “We played really well defensively in that 1st half and that helped us get through some cold shooting. Coach Gates said after the game. The Chants would then take a 20-15 lead into the locker room. From there the Chants would never let the Bluejay’s get any closer than five. The game was sealed with an Easton Rychon three to give the Chants and eight point lead in the 4th. The Chants would go on to win the game 37-32. “I feel like we learned a little bit from the game before and were able to use that today” Coach Gates said. The Chants were led by Elijah Pollard with nine points and twelve rebounds. Landon Critel and Jordan Williams each added seven points in the Chant Victory. The Chants will travel to C-2 Top 10 GICC on Thursday.
