On Tuesday night, the Chanticleer boys hosted the C-2 number five ranked West Holt Huskies. The game started at a quick pace for both teams. The Huskies however raced out to a 20-7 lead after the 1st quarter. After that quarter the Chants settled in and started to claw back into the game. With the Chants getting the lead down to 9 before the half. “It's tough when you spot a team that big of lead but we got ourselves back in. Coach Gates said after the game. The Chants kept working their way back and cut the lead to one in the 3rd quarter before the Huskies extended the lead back to nine at the end of the 3rd. In the 4th the Huskies keep the Chants at bay and took a 57-41 victory. “This game will be a good learning experience for us .” Coach Gates said after the game. This was senior night for seniors Maddox Bennett, Elijah Pollard, Garret Severance, and Will Lange. Pollard and Lange led the Chants with 17 and 12 points each. 

On Friday night the Chants traveled to Kearney to take on the Kearney Catholic Stars. The game would open as back and forth affair. “We played well on the defensive end of the floor in the 1st half and allowed us to get that lead.” Coach Gates would say after the game.  The Stars cut the deficit to six before a 4-0 run before the half gave the Chants a ten-point lead at the break. After half the Chants would begin to grow their lead before extending it to 18 before the 3rd quarter ended. The Chants would finish off the Stars and take a 64-49 victory. “This was a good overall win our guys worked their tails off on both ends. I am proud of how the guys defended tonight” Gates added after the game. The Chants were led by Elijah Pollard with 20 points and Landon Critel with 17. Pollard added seven rebounds and Beau Wells also had seven boards in the win. The Chants will travel to Centura on Saturday before the holiday break. They will play host North Bend in the North Bend holiday tournament on December 27th.
