The Chants kicked off the start of the 2024-2025 basketball season at Ainsworth. The game started off 14-0 in the Chant's favor led by Landon Critel scoring the game's first nine points. From there the Chants would continue to control the game. Finishing off the half with a 45-11 lead. The Chants would then cruise to a 60-24 victory. The Chants had four players in double figures including a double-double from Colton Thompson with eleven rebounds and 17 points. Elijah Pollard added 14 points and five rebounds. Landon Critel added eleven points and Garret Severance added 12 points in the win.  

On Saturday night the Chants hosted conference rival Central City. The game started with the teams trading buckets but the Bison took a 12-10 lead after the 1st quarter. The Bison would stretch the lead to five before the break. “We felt like we got some good looks in the 2nd quarter that  didn’t go down for us.” Coach Gates said after the game. During the 3rd quarter, the Bison would stretch the lead to eleven before the Chants rallied back to within six before the 4th quarter. In the 4th quarter, the Chants would cut the deficit to four but get no closer and the Bison would pull ahead for a 56-44 victory. “There was a lot for us to learn from this game.” Coach Gates said after. The Chants were led by Garret Severance with 12 points and Landon Critel with eleven points. The Chants will host West Holt on Tuesday before traveling to Kearney Catholic on Friday night.
