Albion- The Chanticleers were on the road for their last regular season game to face the Boone

Central Cardinals. The Chants needed to win this game to give themselves a chance to earn their

way into the playoffs. Boone Central was the first to score in the game on a 51-yard touchdown

run. The Chanticleers scored twice in the second quarter. Haydin Nelson scored on two

touchdown runs from 4-yards and 6-yards. Boone Central scored twice in the second quarter also

on a 6-yard run and a 1-yard run. The score was 20-12 at the half. At the start of the second half,

the Chants were able to mount a drive and score. Jordan Williams scored on a 10-yard

touchdown run. The Cardinals still lead by two going into the 4th quarter. At the start of the

fourth quarter, the Chants were able to force the Cardinals to punt and the punt went out at the

Chanticleer's half-yard line. The Chanticleers were able to mount a 99-yard drive capped off by a

Haydin Nelson 3-yard run. The Chant defense stepped up just like they had done the entire

quarter and were able to stop the Cardinals from scoring which lead to the Chanticleer Victory.

Coach Wells said after the game, “What an incredible team win for our guys tonight. We are so

proud of how our young men fought in this game and handled adversity. What a performance by

our defense in the second half and our offense putting together a 99 yard touchdown drive. We

have a shot at the playoffs, we’ll have to wait and see how it plays out.” The Chants will be on

the road to Norfolk to play the Norfolk Catholic Knights next Friday at 7:00 at Memorial Field

for the first round of the playoffs.
