Ord- The Ord Chanticleers were at home for homecoming to take on the Centura Centurians. The scoring summary for the first quarter was Jordan Williams scoring on a 33-yard run and Beau Wells scoring on a 70-yard run. In the second quarter, Jordan Williams scored on a 73-yard touchdown run, Haydin Nelson scored on a 3-yard run, and Landon Critel caught a 36-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Williams right at the end of the half. The score at the half was 35-0. The Centurians had some bad luck on the ensuing kickoff after the half when the returner slipped at the 2-yard line. On the next play, Caden Lytle, Jaydon Trejo and a bunch of other Chanticleers teamed up to get a safety. On the next offensive series for the Chants, Beau Wells scored on a 38-yard touchdown run. During the fourth quarter, the Chants second and third-team units held the Centurians out of the endzone to get the shutout. Coach Wells had this to say after the game, “We accomplished a lot of our goals coming into the game. We still need to stop giving the ball to the other team and our tackling still needs to improve. Our offensive and defensive lines are playing really well right now and are continuing to improve each week. The running touchdowns were blocked to perfection tonight and every team is having a hard time with our D-Line. Overall, we are extremely happy with how our team is trending and getting better.” The Chants will be at home again next week to play the Cross County Cougars.
