St. Paul- The Ord Chants came to play on a hot end-of-September night. In the 1st quarter, the Chanticleers got on the board first when Haydin Nelson caught a 16-yard pass from Jordan Williams. At the end of the 1st quarter, the score was 6-0 Chants. The Chants exploded in the 2nd quarter scoring 34 points. Landon Critel caught a 40-yard touchdown from Jordan Williams, Beau Wells caught a 64-yard touchdown from Jordan Williams, Easton Ryschon caught a 14-yard pass from Jordan Williams, Beau Wells scored on a 61-yard touchdown run, and Haydin Nelson scored on an 8-yard touchdown run. St. Paul was able to find the endzone once in the quarter on a 2-yard touchdown run. Colton Thompson had 3 interceptions in the half to set up man of those scores. At the end of the first half, the score was 40-6. In the second half, Landon Critel caught a 46-yard from Jordan Williams. St. Paul was able to score once more on an 8-yard touchdown run. The final score was 49-13 Chanticleers. Coach Wells said after the game, “All the hard work our young men have been putting in paid off tonight. We continue to improve and I think we have another couple of levels we can go which is exciting. Our line played well tonight on both sides anchored by Jed Boettcher and Colt Meyer. We generated some turnovers, we threw the ball well, and we were able to run the ball consistently. Our younger players got in the game tonight and played well.” The Chants will be on the road to Grand Island Central Catholic next Friday at 7:00 at GISH high school.
