The Ord High School track teams had another successful outing last week at the annual ALC Rebel Invitational held in Loup City. The Chanticleer girls brought home the team title from the meet by scoring 141 points and establishing 3 new personal best marks. St. Paul finished as the runner-up with 115 points. “We have a lot of girls that can score points for the team”, Coach Trampe commented. “We scored in all but one event on the day and had several events where we scored with two or three girls. I am really excited about the potential of this team. We are finding some hidden talents that we didn’t know we had and that has helped. Grand Island CC finished in third with 92 points while Central Valley was fourth with 75 points. Rounding out the team scoring in the girls’ race were Riverside (60), South Loup (55), Kenesaw (38), Ravenna (38), Ansley/Litchfield (31), Arcadia-Loup City (5), and St. Edward (4).
The Chanticleer boys scored 140 points on the day to win the meet by over 40 points and established 12 new personal best marks. Riverside finished as the runner-up with 94.5 points. “Our boys had a very good day as well”, Trampe stated. “Like the girls, we had multiple medal winners in several events and scored in almost every event. We have a lot of depth, and our talent is spread out over a lot of events. We have the potential to be a very good team by the end of the season if we keep working hard and improving every week.” St. Paul finished in third with 91.5 points while Ansley/Litchfield was fourth with 66 points. Rounding out the team scoring in the boys’ race were Central Valley (63), Kenesaw (59), Grand Island CC (53), South Loup (52), Arcadia-Loup City (27), Ravenna (8), and St. Edward (6).
The boys won four events with wins in two individual events and two relays. Bringing home individual gold medals were Blake Hinrichs and Elijah Pollard. Hinrichs won the triple jump for the second straight week with a jump of 41’ 11.5” and Pollard won the 1600-meter run in a time of 4:57.00. The 4 X 400 relay team of Jordan Williams, Garret Severance, Aidan Ryschon, and Trent McCain combined to win the event in a time of 3:43.58. Severance and Williams combined with Pollard and Jace Geiser to bring home the gold medal in the 4 X 800 relay in a time of 9:09.47. Finishing in second place and bringing home silver medals were Garret Severance in the 1600 (4:57.26), Brodie Klimek in the 3200 (11:32.48 PB), and Cainan Rogers in the shot put (45’ 6” PB). Third place medals were won by Jordan Williams (400-55.65 PB), Trent McCain (discus-121’ 8”), Blake Hinrichs (long jump-20’ 2.25”), and the 4 X 100 relay team of Aidan Ryschon, Jace Geiser, Cainan Rogers, and Trent McCain (47.11). Fourth place awards went to Aidan Ryschon (100-12.11), Grady Moudry (1600-5:20.22 PB), and Trent McCain (shot put-41’ 0.5”). Earning fifth place medals were Cainan Rogers (100-12.17 PB, 200-24.51 PB), Gavin Whited (3200-12:08.16), and Colton Thompson (long jump-18’ 4.5”, high jump-5’ 8”). Braden Bruha and Gage Kolar won sixth place medals in the meet. Bruha won his medal in the 400 with a personal best time of 56.33 and Kolar earned his medal in the pole vault with a vault of 10’ 6”. Seventh place medals went to Skyler Probst in the 3200 and Talan Bruha in the ling jump. Probst ran a personal best time of 12:39.56 while Bruha leaped 18’ 2”. Eighth place medals were won by Easton Ryschon (400-58.81), Damon Stam (shot put-37’ 6”), and Gunner Rice (800-2:17.53 PB and pole vault-9’ 6” PB).
The girls did not have any first-place finishes on the day but had several runner-up and third place finishes to boost their point total. Bringing home silver medals from the meet were Maggie Fischer (200-28.64), Ell Jess (800-2:40.99 PB), Natalie Williams (long jump-15’ 3.5”), Jocelyn Hinrichs (triple jump-33’ 2”), Trinity Chatfield (high jump-4’ 10”), and the 4 X 400 relay team of Maggie Fischer, Claire Cargill, Klair DeRiso, and Natalie Williams (4:32.94). Third place medals went to Maggie Fischer (400-65.11), Izzy Jeffres (1600-6:34.97), Marin Reilly (shot put-34’ 10”), Brookelyn Fox (pole vault-8’ 0”), the 4 X 100 relay team of Klair DeRiso, Maggie Fischer, Marin Reilly, and Natalie Williams (55.07), and the 4 X 800 relay team of Piper Whited, Avery Bruha, Elle Jess, and Izzy Jeffres (11:25.56). Fourth place went to Natalie Williams in the 200 (29.02), Piper Whited in the 3200 (13:46.76 PB), Jocelyn Whited in the 100HH (18.41) and 300LH (53.42), and Marin Reilly in the discus (104’ 7”). Fifth place medals were won by Claire Cargill in the long jump (14’ 7”) and Addi Blaha in the pole vault (7’ 6”). Picking up sixth place medals were Claire Cargill in the 400 (67.69), Payton Bruha in the 100HH (19.80) and 300LH (57.41), Lillie Shoemaker in the shot put (32’ 3”), and Klair DeRiso in the long jump (14’ 3.25”). Seventh place awards went to Klair DeRiso in the 400 (68.73), Trinity Chatfield in the 100HH (20.27), Azia Giron in the triple jump (29’ 9.5”), and Piper Whited in the pole vault (6’ 6”).
