On February 22, the Jr. High Girls Wrestling team ended their 2023-2024 season at Gibbon. The team had 3 first-place finishers (Boettcher, Melnick, Kolar) and 2 second-place finishers (Breitkreutz, Hernandez). The girls participated in five wrestling meets throughout the season, Walnut Middle School, Valentine, Ainsworth, Gibbon, and one at home. The team finished with 56 wins and 15 losses. The individual stats are Rayna Kolar (9-5), Kenna Hernandez (11-3), Peyton Melnick (12-2), Josie Breitkreutz (10-4), Ellie Boettcher (12-0), and Macyn Johnson (2-1). Macyn’s season unfortunately ended early after an injury. We look forward to four of the six wrestlers returning next year for their 8th-grade season, while the other two will be moving on to the high school level.
