The Chanticleer boys took on the GICC Crusaders on Thursday night, their last game before Christmas Break. The Chants jumped out to a 12-5 point lead. “We played good defense in the 1st half, which was big in carrying us throughout the game.” Coach Gates said after the game. The Chans would take a 12-point lead into the locker room. The Chants would lose the 3rd quarter by one and carry an 11-point lead into the 4th quarter. The Crusaders would get within five but that would be the closest they would get as the Chants would take a 42-35 victory. “We did a lot of good things tonight and can build on this going forward. Coach Gates said. The Chants were led by Blake Hinrichs with 12 points and eight rebounds. Talan Bruha added ten points and three steals for the Chants. Elijah Pollard added eight points in the Chant victory. The Chants will travel to North Bend for a holiday tournament starting next Thursday. The Chants open up with Humphrey/Lindsey Holy Family. Then  they will play either the host North Bend or Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Friday.
