The Ord Boys basketball team opened the week by traveling to Atkinson to take on the West Holt Huskies. The Chants started slow finding themselves down 6 after the 1st and 2nd quarters.”This was the same situation we found ourselves in the past weekend; our guys came out and played their best 2nd half of the season.” Coach Gates said after the game. The Chants would explode for a 20-point 3rd quarter, winning the quarter by 14, and taking the lead. The Chants would control the rest of the game for a 51-46 victory. The Chants were led by Blake Hinrichs with 25 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Williams would pitch in nine points and seven rebounds. Talan Bruha would add six points and five boards for the Chants. Elijah Pollard and Colton Thompson would have seven points and six rebounds each. “We had a great team effort on the boards tonight, and that was big for us tonight.” Coach Gates said after the game. 

On Friday night the Chants took on the Kearney Catholic Stars. The Chants would take the 1st quarter 11-7. The Stars would take the 2nd quarter but the Chants would go into the locker room with a 20-17 point lead. The teams would tie in the 3rd quarter. “We had an opportunity in the 3rd quarter to pull away and that didn’t happen for us tonight.” Coach Gates would say about the 3rd quarter after the game. In the 4th the Stars would hit 3 three-pointers with the last one coming with a minute left to take a six-point lead. The Chants would be unable to respond and the Chants would fall 49-40. The Chants were led by Elijah Pollard with 11 points. Blake Hinrichs had nine points and seven rebounds. Talan Bruha added seven points for the Chants.   The Chants will host Centura on Saturday.
