Centura - The Ord Chanticleers on the road for the final regular season game of the year to take on the Centura Centurians. The Chanticleers won the toss and elected to take the ball. The Chants drove the ball down the field on their first drive but turned the ball over on downs. The first quarter was a defensive battle and the score ended 0-0 after the first. The Centurians struck first in the second quarter on a 53 yard touchdown run. The Chants responded by driving the ball down the field scoring on a 2 yard touchdown run by Dylan Hurlburt. The Chants scored were able to score two more times in the quarter on another rushing touchdown from Dylan Hurlburt from 4 yards out and 35 yard touchdown reception from Easton Ryschon from Dylan Hurlburt. The Chants had missed an extra point on their second touchdown and on the third score went for two and Dylan Hurlburt found Talan Bruha on pass and catch for the 2pt Converstion. The score at the half was 21-0. The third quarter was much the same for both teams as the first quarter as neither team could score. In the fourth, the Chants scored two more times on a 16 yard touchdown run from Dylan Hurlburt and 26 yard touchdown reception from Tad Kovarik from Dylan Hurlburt. The final was 35-7. Coach Wells commented after the game, “As a team, we wanted to build off the momentum from the week before against Broken Bow. We sputtered a bit offensively and really had a hard time finding a rythm but were still able to put up 35 points. Defensively, we were very solid again besides one big play that we gave up but overall have been playing really well on that side of the ball. Our special teams were solid again. We are excited for playoff football. Really proud of our players for winning the District Title again for the fourth year in a row and earning an opening round playoff game at home.” The Chanticleers will host the first round of the playoffs on Friday against Cedar Catholic at 6:00 P.M.
