For the second week in a row and the third time this season, both the girls and boys track teams claimed the team title.  The Chanticleers won their home invitational in both divisions last Thursday.  “We have had a really good season up to this point and our kids continue to perform well”, Coach Derry Trampe stated.  “We held a few kids out of some of their regular events to give them a little rest before we head into districts, and we were still able to win the team titles.  We have a lot of depth this year and it paid off for us in this meet.”  The Chanticleer girls won their portion of the meet with 110 points which was 12.5 points better than runner-up Grand Island CC (97.5).  Central City was a close third with 97 points.  Rounding out the team scoring were Arcadia-Loup City (83), Boone Central (75), St. Paul (59), Burwell (24.5), and Ord JV (4).  The boys scored 125 points to bring home their title.  Their point total put them 24 points ahead of runner-up Central City (101).  St. Paul finished in third place with 95 points.  Rounding out the team scoring were Boone Central (88), Arcadia-Loup City (54), Grand Island CC (50), Burwell (7), and Ord JV (1).

Gold medal winners for the boys included Garret Severance in the 1600 (PB 4:53.45), Hayden Kluthe in the 300 IH (41.93), Sam Boettcher in the shot put (PB 48’ 0”), and the 4 X 800 relay team of Garret Severance, Elijah Pollard, Jace Geiser, and Owen Lane (8:29.61).  Bringing home silver medals for the team were Owen Lane in the 400 (52.37), Elijah Pollard in the 1600 (PB 4:56.81), Hayden Kluthe in the 110 HH (15.38), Jed Boettcher in the discus (PB 142’ 3”), Blake Hinrichs in the triple jump (42’ 0.5”), and the 4 X 400 relay team of Owen Lane, Blake Hinrichs, Jace Geiser, and Owen Lane (3:40.67).  Third place awards went to Gunner Rice in the 3200 (11:15.33), Blake Hinrichs in the high jump (5’ 2”), and Gage Kolar in the pole vault (11’ 0”).  Fourth place points were scored by Masaki Arisawa in the 3200 (11:23.24), Jace Geiser in the high jump (5’ 0”), the 4 X 100 relay team of Trent McCain Isaac Van Leer, Evan Thomsen, and Hayden Kluthe (46.51), and the 8 X 100 throwers relay team of Savannah Jacobs, Jed Boettcher, Bailey Setlik, Colt Meyer, Lillie Shoemaker, Sam Boettcher, Jenna Deden, and Cainan Rogers (2:02.81).  Finishing in fifth place were Isaac Van Leer in the 100 (PB 11.84/11.88), Trent McCain in the shot put (PB 41’ 11.5”), and Dylan Hurlburt in the long jump (PB 19’ 7.5”). Sixth place medals were won by Masaki Arisawa in the 1600 (5:16.23), Cainan Rogers in the shot put (PB 41’ 6”), and Easton Ryschon in the high jump (4’ 10”).

Earning gold medals for the girls were Maggie Fischer in the 200 (PB 28.56/27.76), Natalie Williams in the long jump (PB 16’ 0.5”), and Lexis Vancura in the triple jump (34’ 4.5”).  Second place medals went to Maggie Fischer in the 400 (63.23), Piper Whited in the 3200 (14:27.20), Britta Deden in the 100 HH (18.90/16.83), Lexis Vancura in the long jump (16’ 0.5”), and the 4 X 100 relay team of Lexi Vancura, Natalie Williams, Kaidence Wilson, and Britta Deden (52.40).  Jocelyn Hinrichs and Kaidence Wilson added third place points while earning their medals.  Hinrichs finished third in both the 100 HH (PB 17.54/17.40) and the 300 LH (PB 51.91) while Wilson jumped 4’ 8” in the high jump to claim her medal. Fourth place awards went to Britta Deden in the 300 LH (54.05), Shaylee Thomsen in the 200 (29.64/29.87), the 4 X 400 relay team of Maggie Fischer, Britta Deden, Claire Cargill, and Natalie Williams (4:35.10), and the 4 X 800 relay team of Piper Whited, Aracely Negrete, Lillie Shoemaker, and Izzy Jeffres (11:57.82).  Fifth place medals were won by Kaci Bruah in the 200 (30.28/30.23) and Piper Whited in the 800 (2:51.47). Kaidence Wilson added a sixth place medal in the 100 with a personal best time of 13.77 in the finals.  Piper Whites also won a sixth place medal in the pole vault with a vault of 7’ 0”.
